Meet the Teacher Behind Z Meditation: Ajay Kapoor

As a lifelong student of the teachings of Shri Krishna and deeply inspired by the wisdom of Shri Ramakrishna and Shri Ramana Maharshi, Ajay’s sincere search led him into years of meditation, contemplation, and inner inquiry. Through this exploration, the framework of Z Meditation gradually emerged, a simple yet structured approach to understanding the patterns of the mind and loosening the conditionings that keep us in conflict with life. Since founding Z Meditation in 1996, Ajay has guided thousands of seekers from many walks of life through retreats and teachings centered on clarity, awareness, and the direct understanding of the mind.

For nearly three decades, Ajay has led silent meditation retreats, guiding seekers beyond the constant noise of the mind toward a deeper experience of clarity and peace. His intention remains simple: to help people understand their own minds and rediscover the quiet freedom that already exists within them.

Sumedha has been a dedicated student of Z Meditation for over 12 years and has assisted in multiple retreats. She supports participants through the process with care, understanding, and practical guidance.

For many years, Z Meditation retreats were only offered at their centre in the Himalayas in India. Today, this work is also available through guided online programs, making the teachings accessible to people wherever they are.

The Three Phases of
the Retreat

This journey unfolds in three stages.
Each level builds gently on the previous one, allowing understanding and practice to deepen step by step.

Level 1: Awakening

  • Understand how the mind creates inner tension and emotional pressure
  • Recognise patterns of overthinking, anxiety, and reactivity
  • Explore how expectations and conditioning shape your experience of life
  • Begin the Deep Deconditioning
    Inquiry to question these patterns
  • Learn the Laws of Peace — practical principles for clarity and steadiness in daily life

Level 2: Release

  • Deepen the Deep Deconditioning Inquiry process
  • Release deeper emotional conditionings such as negativity, resentment, and self-doubt
  • Experience a natural return to calm, balance, and contentment
  • Learn the Six Radiant Mantras to
    stabilise clarity and emotional ease
  • Build a more grounded and aware
    relationship with your thoughts and
    emotions

Level 3: Integration

  • Explore the deeper roots of attachment, identity, and emotional suffering
  • Complete the Deep Deconditioning Inquiry process
  • Experience a quieter, more peaceful relationship with the mind
  • Integrate your understanding into everyday life
  • Begin to live, relate, and respond with greater clarity, ease, and inner freedom

Retreat Structure

Each weekend includes:

• 2 live sessions in 2 days (4 hours each)
• 30-minute guided practice sessions on

Tuesday and Thursday evenings (optional to attend)
Sessions are held at Europe-friendly times, and replays are available if you miss any live session

Fees-

Level 2 — €80
Level 3 — €120

You may enroll level by level, or join all three levels together.

If, after attending the retreat sincerely, you feel it has not been helpful, we are happy to refund your fee.

You are not asked to simply listen, you constantly engage with the inquiry and other practices you learn in the retreat. Most people find that genuine curiosity and willingness are enough to begin seeing meaningful changes.
“Is this therapy?”
No, Therapy often focuses on analysing past experiences. This work focuses on seeing — in the present moment — how thoughts and patterns create suffering, and learning how to step out of those patterns.
